House of Mandatory Happiness // Denni Ian

A little bit country. A little bit Punk a la The Pogues and Boomtown Rats. A little bit strange and poetic – The Decemberists and Modest Mouse.

There be art here and it is enthralling. Lo-fi and self recorded to add to the aesthetic, which really benefits. There is a Tom Smith/Paul Banks/Ian Curtis vibe to the vocals which is really astonishing, seriously, love the vocals.

The cutting and downplayed lyrics and vocals are perfectly matched with the low key guitars. Listen to a tale, tell me what you think
